Minimal model of an active solid deviates from equilibrium mechanics

چکیده

In this work, the mechanical response of an one-dimensional active solid—defined as a network stochastic particles interacting by nonlinear hard springs— subject to external deformation force, is numerically studied and rationalized with minimal model. It found that solid made linear springs stress presents average which independent system’s activity. However, when springs, solid’s decreases respect passive system under same conditions, function activity rotational noise in system. The latter result may shed light on new ways creating metamaterial, could tune its stiffness moving either or noise.
